Should I join the Marines?
I’m currently in the Army Reserves and have done a tour of duty in Iraq. I’ve only been in for I contracted in May of ‘07 and am 20 years old. I have the option of staying in the Reserves and pursuing law enforcement here at home but I’ve also thought about, and wish I had done it in the first place, switching over and doing active duty Marines. I guess I just wanna be able to serve to the best of my ability and be challenged, that’s why I’m thinking Marines cause I like to be pushed and challenged to be the best I can be. I’m unsure at this point as to which route I should take. Regardless of whether I stay here or switch over, I’m sure I’ll be going down range again, ‘just might wanna choose which group of guys I can go with second time around. Advice from any prior service or veterans would be much appreciated.

Ever considered going for Ranger or Special Forces? That is an option that will give you a challeange and while I will give the Marines all the respect in the world, I seriously doubt Marine Boot Camp is harder than Ranger School or Special Forces Selection.

If you want to join the Marines anyway then you can actually do a DD 368 and try to switch over like if you was trying to go active Army. However, your unit doesn’t have to release you and even if they would release you there’s still the issue of seeing if the Marines will even take prior service.

A friend of mine bought a King Charles Cavalier puppy and she is having trouble training her what do you think?
Ok my friend bought a cavalier puppy Last monday its her first puppy/ dog she has ever owned she brought the puppy home at 6weeks old and I guess she is now about 7weeks old she cannot get the puppy to sleep, go potty or eat. I mentioned to her she should bring the puppy back to its mother to get better socialized and receive mother puppy care and she said its my puppy and I’ll do what I want with her. I told her she should have waite until her puppy was 8-12 weeks old. She also told me the breeder was sick of the puppies and just wanted to get them to their homes. Im pretty sure she bought from a very irresponsible breeder who only cared about money as she was suppose to get the dog on christmas eve. How old was your dog when you brought him home?
I was always told you cannot take a puppy from its mother until it was 8 weeks old and redy to leave mother. I never had any of these pronlems with my dogs and I have 5 small dogs.

Fortunately the King Charles is an easy breed to train. Just try a baby bottle with warm milk and a lot of patient loving care. The training can wait a few weeks until the puppy gets attached to the owner. They are sweet and great companions.

6 weeks is an exceptable age. Although 8 weeks is ideal. It’s just a puppy and it will take a couple of weeks for her to get settled in. Is your friend aware of the defects that a king charles can have? The biggest one is sometimes their brains will grow normally but their skulls willnot. It can result in odd behavior and will eventually result in death. Google it.

Tell her to put it in its crate until it stops crying, for the not sleeping problem. For food, give it puppy food soaked in milk, in 6 TINY meals a day. After the puppy has eaten it will have to go, and also after it’s been in it’s crate for a couple of hours. If the puppy hasn’t eaten in 6 hours, it will go into anaphalactic shock. She should have learned more before she got the puppy.
